Q. What Timber is used?

The Oiled Finish Adirondack chairs, tables and ottomans are crafted from Kwila, a Tropical Hardwood otherwise known as "Merbau". Kwila is regarded as one of the most durable timbers in the world. It is termite and rot resistant and can last indefinitely if maintained properly. Kwila is less prone to the shrinking, cracking or bowing which is prevalent in a lot of other  timbers. The Australian Department of Primary Industries has given Kwila a Rating One, which is the highest standard of suitability for timber outdoor furniture.

The White Painted Adirondack chairs, tables and ottomans are crafted from American Ash hardwood and is more suitable for a painted finish.

Q. How is the Oiled Finish applied?

Kwila Oil is applied to each piece of timber prior to assembly to achieve a deep rich showroom look. To maintain this look the furniture should be lightly oiled every couple of months or if you prefer the silver grey appearance of the oxidized wood oiling is not required.

Q.Is the White Painted finish weatherproof?

Yes the painted finish is weatherproof. An exterior two Pac-Polyurethane is applied to each piece of timber prior to assembly. This paint is designed for outdoor use and will easily cope with full exposure to sun and rain.

Q. Are the chairs Made in Australia?

Although our chairs are no longer hand crafted in Australia the quality has not changed and the finished product is as lovely as ever. You won't be disappointed.
